Patient-centricity is the driving force behind this role. Our Medication Aides are experts in all aspects of patient care and have a meticulous approach to everything they do:
- Facilitate the provision of patients' everyday medicine, which may either be prescribed or non-prescribed drugs.
- Work closely with other nursing staff to provide excellent patient care and oversee medication usage.
- Store your medications in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and any moisture. Do not mix different medications together, as this can lead to cross-contamination and potential interactions.
- Maintain a log of the medication doses and the corresponding times for taking them as per instructions.
- Observe and document any deviations in a patient's condition.
- Immediately respond to patient emergency signals through intercoms, call bells, or other methods to ascertain the assistance required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- The key qualification for this post is having a certification as a Medication Assistant, Certified (MAC)
- The possession of a valid and up-to-date certificate in medication administration is a requirement set forth by the state
- An in-depth understanding of nursing and medical practices, as well as the legal and regulatory structures that govern long-term care, is important for providing high-quality care
- To qualify for this job, candidates must have reached a minimum age limit of twenty years
- You must be adept at utilizing the English language to communicate effectively through reading, writing and speaking, as well as comprehension
- Successful interaction with elderly and disabled persons is made possible through the use of patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive outlook
