The ability to provide first-rate patient care is a must for our Medication Aides. They possess advanced knowledge of medical care protocols and possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills:
- Provide patients with their daily dose of medication, whether prescribed or non-prescribed.
- Engage with a team of nurses to provide comprehensive patient care and oversee medication administration.
- Do not stop taking any medications without first consulting with your healthcare provider, as this can affect the efficacy of your treatment and potentially worsen your condition.
- Maintain a log of the dosages and administration times of the prescribed drugs.
- Watch closely for any signs of a decline in a patient's health and document accordingly.
- Acknowledge patient calls for assistance through emergency signals, intercoms, or bell systems in a timely manner to address their needs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Becoming a Certified Medication Assistant (MAC) is a prerequisite for this job
- It is imperative that individuals possess a valid and up-to-date certification in medication administration in order to comply with state regulations
- To be effective in providing long-term care services, it's essential to possess deep knowledge of nursing and medical practices, laws, and regulations
- The minimum age standard for this job is twenty years, and candidates below this age are not eligible to apply
- English language proficiency is a must, encompassing both verbal and written skills, along with comprehension
- To provide the best care for the elderly and disabled, one must possess qualities of patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive demeanor
